Couple panamensis close-ups. These are the two that are not paired up.

Absolutely love this tank! Im in the planning stages of doing something similar so this is a huge inspiration.

I really like the Pike Top Minnows, really hoping I can track some down as well. Do you ever see them going for any of the bigger fish or do they just stick to them selves?

I noticed your other live bearers (which are gorgeous btw!) tend to stay in more mid water - I was thinking of having some wild type Swordtails in my tank which stay in the upper levels do you think the Pike Top Minnows would be ok with this or would I be better off choosing one over the other?

Have you ever looked at some bottom feeders for this tank? Like some sort of catfish? If you decided against them what put you off? I'm just asking as Im struggling to find suitable options and Im starting to think that it may be best to leave them out...

Thanks Andy

Hello, thanks for the nice words. The belonesox stick to themselves, but that's probably because everything is too big for them to eat. Wouldn't trust them with anything that can fit in their mouth. Swords probably fine if you make sure they are BIG. My goodeids actually chase the belonesox around a bit.

As far as catfish- I am pretty limited in what's available from central America, trying to keep this a CA only tank. I actually put in a baby blue-eye ancistrus last week, to replace the red ancistrus I had ,which ended up being a chocolate pleco. Ancistrus can be found in panama, though probably not blue-eyes bristlenose, so I'm cheating a bit... but oh well. I would love to keep a few cenote cats, but I don't think they are available in the hobby.

Yeah central american cats are hard to pin down... and finding them is even harder.

Really great tank though given me a lot to think about and your fish are beautiful :)
