Possible aquarium stocking 10.0

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The amphs I like tend to be too aggressive to keep with most other fish. Actually almost all amphs are a**holes haha.

I have kept amps in the past and had a freakishly calm midas. Ive tried red devils, Hoga, Red Isletas which all gave me problems so I rehomed them all. But all the problems I had with the amps were toward other cichlids. I never had tried them with polys. Seems most cichlids ignore polys but sometimes you get that one that just cant stand any fish....

Right, and i'm not trying to be the first guy to risk it lol I'm sure if i raised them together they would be fine but you never know when youre going to wake up and have a mess on youre hands.

Trust me I’m tempted to grab one but I know with how greedy they are I would run into a lot of problems with overfeed I had one that almost ate my finger because he fed so aggressively

Polleni are supposedly oscar-like in their behavior, are from africa, and are stunning. They're not herbivorous though - but that means you could have plants with them.

Otherwise I vote for the Orbicularis or Synspilum.

Agreed that if you want that many polys, (esp. if you don't want to cut down from 3 Teugs to 1 or 2), you should just get a larger interactive cichlid and call it a day. When a fish is in your face all the time it makes up for the lack of movement in the tank. Most often the tank movement makers are just that and don't interact as much, so again - are they worth the bioload and work?

It'd be easy to add a small group of something after you upgrade if you still want it later on.
Boulengerella Maculata or Toxotes Blythii would be cool - you could get small groups and they'd give you surface action. (I'm just feeding you a list of fish that I want. LOL)

Yeah, Polleni are nice. My main problem yet again is the aggressive feeding response i believe i would get from one of these guys..

However, I think it would be pretty manageable with only one, now that i think about it. I still have plenty of time decide.

I do like the idea of pikes but they maybe too easy for polys to eat. especially lower jaws.
