Here are some pictures from tonight. Still got a little bit of gearth in its stomach from last night. I didn’t see it eat tonight but if it can grab something every other night, then I think it will be a good step in the right direction.

I wish I can dig up the thread f ok simply discus but it’s too far back.

I dosed higher than the directions. I dosed daily and Did 50% water changes daily. It was a mix of dose full strength one day, do a 50% WC, dose full strength again, wait two days. Something like that. Let me try to find it.

Here’s a link. Most of them are consistent with each other on simply discus.

Those discus guys know a lot about treating internal parasites. I used this method for all my wilds when I first got them. Remember to turn up your aeration when dosing.

Thanks for the link! One thing that they point out in that thread is the size of the fish. Of course, even as juvies these bass are much bigger than many of the fish available in the trade. They also discuss treating for longer periods. I will probably start another round and order some more General Cure off of Amazon and try to continue continue the treatment for at least ten days. I might also try to get Praziquantel and possibly keep dosing it for an additional ten days. Hopefully, this will help the little one get past whatever it is having trouble with.

Can they see very well in the dark? I was under the impression that they need to see their food.
I read that fish can see up to 50%(iirc) better than us in the wild in murky water. If they can hunt and feed in the Rio negro, and other tannin filled bodies of water they can see in a dark fishtank. Plus if you have the tank lights out the ambient light in the room should be enough.

Well, I fed red wigglers last night and the little one was much more active and very interested in them, but didn’t end up eating any before the endli cleaned them up. I’m going to feed some bloodworms tonight and see if I get a reaction out of those.

I fed bloodworms tonight and it went pretty well. The little guy ate a decent amount. Not nearly as much as the other two, but a lot more than normal.

Did you ever treat this fish for nematodes? General cure won't do much against nematodes. You will need levamisole for this particular fish since I doubt it will eat fenbendazole treated food.

2ppm levamisole for 24 hours (no lights), and repeat 2 more times every 2-3 weeks.
