50DBD6A2-C93A-4603-95A2-00229E382CC5.jpeg Today I noticed white spots on my smaller rope fish. It’s only on his head and I’ve had them about a month in a tank with my cichlids. I’m not sure if it’s ich but I want to jump on it before my other rope fish gets it. The one with it is Slinky and he’s the one on the bottom

Here’s another photo. None of my other fish have the spots yet but one if my electric yellows is rubbing against the decorations. Not sure if it’s relatedimage.jpg

Well suggest increasing the temp to 86degrees. Increase by a degree an hour. Add salt 1tsp per gallon and another 1tsp/g in 6hrs and then another 1tsp/g for a total of 3 times.

With every water change add back the salt.

Once the spots disappear it going for another 10 days.

Post some water parameters.

What’s ur ammonia?
It was through the roof. I think I have it under control now I started the heating a degree an hour and added salt. Also got my air stone set up. How often should I do a water change while adding the salt?

Would do a 50% and then add the salt and recheck ur numbers. Would do 50% daily and add the salt back in. Gotta keep checking ur water parameters.

why the high ammonia? new tank?

going to want to stay on the water changes. I am surprised the water does not look cloudy from a bacteria bloom from the ammonia. as stated stay on your water tests, what test kit are you using?
