This is a ~2.5gal fish bowl. I keep red cherry shrimp and java moss in iit. Lighting is a cheap daylight standard LED bulb "75watt equivalent". You can't see it well, but there is a small black sponge bubbler filter in there too.

I was sort of out of the hobby. Moved to Hawaii and taught and led scuba tours for 14 years. I spent a lot of time with fish. Moved back to Oregon and it took me 2 years before I set up a tank.
No kidding, back in the day we didn't have a lot of info, or decent internet, you had to really look for info in books, and a lot of the info you could get wasn't correct.

I've been out for two years just started my 120 and 125 back up a couple weeks ago. I am doing a fishless cycle getting that nitrite spike now. Although...I have had my koi pond running for over three years, so I suppose not completely out just didn't have my fish tanks running.
Better check the koi pond. It might be over flowing from all the rain.

I just checked last night and had to backwash my filter to drop the pond level a couple inches. As far as stocking I only have koi. The name was due to my GT fever back in 2007 lol. I mostly dive or go trolling these days, but every once in a while I'll dust off my poles and reels.
