My Kamfa-RTH used to have long, wispy dorsal and anal fins. While not characteristic of a true Kamfa (more like a ZZ Dragon's), I quite liked them. Recently, they disappeared overnight. At least an inch on both fins just gone...
And I'm 99.99% sure it's not a bacterial or fungal issue -- it happened a week ago and he's showing absolutely no other other signs of tail rot etc., no flashing, they're not getting any shorter nor do they have any white or black fungus around them. No other fins are affected, just the 2 long wispy ones.
I need input from others, but I think I might have accidentally 'burned' them off....
Before:

And after pic today (a week later, no difference from the 1st day I discovered):

Water parameters are normal as usual, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite & 20-40 ppm nitrates.
Here's what I think happened but am open to other ideas:
-- I normally add aquarium salt during every other weekly 45% water change. But this is added into the 20L jugs of filtered/sterilized well water I have delivered to the house every week and it's largely dissolved by the time it goes into the tank.
-- Last week Drakaris whacked into a power head outlet during aggressive feeding and got a minor wound on his left flank.
-- As it's in the middle of usual water change schedule I just mixed up some salt (to aid healing) into about a liter of water, and without it being fully dissolved poured it into one end of the tank while he was at the other end.
-- Unfortunately he got curious and zipped down to the other end, straight into the still falling crystals of salt.
-- I wasn't happy about that but I didn't see any immediate effects and as it was near his bedtime I turned off his lights and covered his tank to block my room lights.
-- Next day (about 12 hr. later), I turned on the lights and shockingly noticed his beautiful long fin ends were gone.
Again, no change since then and he's his normal active/aggressive, eating like a race horse self -- do you think I burned them off or is there some other explanation I'm missing?
