This is the beginning of my new setup for my fish. 8x4 ft tall fiberglass tank. It has a 4x2 lexan window. It will be filtered with a pr of 55 gal overhead wet dry filters ran with a pr of 15k liter per hr dc pumps. Pond air pump w/ 12" airstone. 18 watt aqua uv for added filtration. It will be underneath a roofed structure so it will get almost no sunlight. Utilizing a drip system. 3 stage 20" cartridges. 2 gal/hr to start with. Attached are pics from the biulder. Will add more pics and info as i start to put it together.IMG_5990.jpg IMG_5991.jpg

Very nice! Are you using a 55g filled with k1? How will your filtration system work. I’m definitely subbed

No im using over head wet dry filtera i made out of 55 gal tubs. I'll take pics tomorrow when its sunny out. Just like a reg wet dry only big with drip tray and all. Filling them with lava rocks

As well as a 18 watt aqua uv for extra but the wet dry are the main filters. Might use one of the fx5 for the mean time to help boost the bio.

Oh I see. This is a massive tank I would think something much larger than 55. But then again you got the drip haha. What’s going in this monster? I hope the piriba is ready haha!

Its a pr of them. They are not like typical wet dry filters. No sump they are just media and drip trays full. No open side areas so i have alot of surface area being utilized. Once u see the pics u will understand. Its not a 55 gal tank either. I used one same style on a 800 gal pond and it ran great and it was in sunlight 2/3 of the time so don't see why this won't work too.

You'll be fine. That is a ton of filtration. Like you said. In Fresh systems wet dry is still a great way to go. You could do 1 of them k1 but I dont see a reason over the wet dry to do that. Wet dry will acheive the same results just as fast as k1 without all the added expense and fussiness.
