I want to keep the tank SA, but looked them up and their neat fish. Could a single one live in a 20 long?

My experience with diamond tetras is they are active breeders and shorter life spans the males can develop purple in their dorsal finI like the look of the hoplos do they need to be kept in group or singles? And would 8 diamond tetras be a better fit for the tank? Thanks for the reply!
So you wouldn't recommend diamond tetras?M

ok thanks!Just giving you information, very pretty fish, the dorsal fin of my males extended past the tail. If you have fin nippers that could be a problem if you have a way to protect the offspring you might be able to go multi generational
On a previous thread I was told that 4 was a good number in my 75?Fire mouths are Central American cichlids and need to be kept in groups so I would recommend keeping 6 or more, as for tetras I would go with Buenos Aires Tetras as they come from Central America and would work well with the firemouths
It may work but there will be lots of fights and squabbles, I would say get 6 to be safe. It won’t increase your bio load too much anywayok thanks!
