My Herichthys Carpintis jornal

I was at The Wet Spot today and saw this cute little guy, and couldn't say no. A few shots before lights out to settle in.20181004_162713.jpg 20181004_162716.jpg 20181004_162721.jpg
It's a Sorubim Lima "Lima Shovelnose"

He managed to break a wisker, should heal with good water right? Or should I add something to help it out?

I cannot advise on the whisker. It's my understanding that losing a barbel is disastrous for Pictus catfish but maybe not for this species. You might ask the LFS what they do in that situation.

Side tangent, but can I just say that you are super lucky to live near The Wet Spot? I would be in there all the time. In fact I order from them often enough that they know me by name. The amount of money I blow on shipping is unholy though.

I’ve actually had pictus cats that got their barbels chewed off but over time they grew back fine, I think that most cats can do this

Very nice carpintis.

I am looking to add some dithers to my rtm tank. What are those fish with the yellow spots on their tail that you have in with your carpintis?

They are Roseline sharks "Sahyadria denisonii" is the scientific name.
I have had them for a year and a half now.

So I got these guys a month ago now. In that time I had 2 of the 5 double in size of the other three. So I am guessing these are the male's. The three smaller ones I guess as females are also wearing stripes just before thier tails.

So I feel comfortable thinning down the group to give a little peace to the tank. So I will double check with the Wet Spot in the morning but I am sure they will ship. I will sell the extras for $35 each, one male one female.

35 bucks for 3 inch carpintis? And the wet spot is going to buy them from you? Boy that's awesome. Wish I had a place to pay me top dollar for my extras lmao. Could use a little space cleared up
