What type of puffers are you raising currently? The lurkers are highy predatory fish and would probably work well in a 29...

Multi's are lovely little fish with interesting behaviour and breeding habits. Very easy to look after too.
pea puffers, I'm 15 so I don't want something that's hard to take care of for when I go to college
yeah I was considering them, problem is I think the tank would look empty with just them in there
I think oscars have the best personality, they are like dogs when you interact with them, or even see YouTube videos of them. Not to mention most monster fish seem to interact with humans a lot, unlike other fish that just don't give a damn or swim away when you go close
I recently got 3 pearl gouramis. I've never kept them before but they caught my eye in the LFS and filled the criteria I had so I thought I would get them. For a few days I was really regretting it as they hid all the time but then they suddenly decided I was alright or that the tank was safe or something and now they are out all the time and begging for food if I go anywhere near the tank, very much like my oscars did. I thought they were quite pretty when I got them but after a few weeks they are really stunning!
Lurker would be perfect. Not very demanding and outgoing personality. Only downfall would be that it would probably not be easy to pellet train or even eat pellets at all. But there are lots of things it will eat like the guppies you raise, frozen krill, shrimp, etc.
