If the witnesses don't show up the case gets dropped in America almost always.

Not really.
Its on the prosecution to determine if they want to prosecute with or without a witness. If they feel the evidence is still strong enough they can certainly move forward with this case. The defense can always make motion for dismissal but that doesnt mean the case is going to be dropped.

Also a witness can be subpoenaed to testify and if they fail to do so the judge can slapp them with a contempt of court charge. The witness does have a right under the fifth ammendment to plead the 5th. Basically saying hey im not answering any questions because my answers can implicate me theres probably other reasons why a witness can invoke the 5th but none come to mind.

That is factually inaccurate. If witnesses are crucial to a case and they don't show up then the case is dismissed.

I dont know how its done in canada but in the U.S witness testimony is not end all be all. Its just part of the defense/prosecutions case. Its evidence same as a gun, hair samples or finger prints

Inspired by Joey's video I'm going to make my own titled: "Aquariums RUINED my Life (EMOTIONAL part 1)"....
1) I'm spending way too much money on tanks, accessories and fish.
2) I'm frequently staying up 24-48 hr working on my tanks; my body clock is totally out of whack.
3) I'm neglecting my 15 yr old business (or at least not putting as much effort into it as I should be).
4) I'm almost never getting outside for any mtb'ing, climbing or slacklining adventures, things I need to keep in shape at 50+.
5) Was never much of a social kind of guy anyway (except for work) but now I'm like a total recluse, just working on my tanks or running out getting this or that for them.
6) I feel like a slave to the hobby and my fish...

...but *ucking A, I still love it lol.

I dont see what so inspiring about this guy. I think hes an F'in genius for getting people that never met him to pay for his tank upgrade but other than that.... meh

First he pleads with people for hand outs to build his gallery up which just didn't sit well with me at all. Then i watched a thing on you tube about a guy who calculated what financial gain joey gets from his channel, which made my blood boil. And to cap it all off we now have this latest stunt. For me the "king of DIYs" crown has slipped only to be replaced with a new one...."king of con." I was subscribed to his channel, I never watched all his stuff, just bits. Not any more, i've unsubscribed now. Can't be doing with the knobsack.

I didn't watch the video that started all this thread, honestly I have only watched a few of his vids ever in my life, but I get the jest from reading some replies here. Rather than wondering if its true or not, what you should be asking yourself is why in the world people these days feel the need to share such personal things with complete strangers?? True or not either way it shows a real lack of common sense and lack of character.

I'm far from an old guy, but at 47 I'm not a young person either, but I can't help but wonder at what point in the evolution of society so many people changed to this attention seeking share everything with total strangers mentality. It's fine to share things we have in common and/or like that make life more enjoyable. It's another thing though to feel the need to spill your personal life with people whom you couldn't even pick out of a small crowd. Makes no sense to me.

Because that's where the money's at.

Exactly, because that's where the money's at. More drama = more views, = more followers, = more $$$.

I've heard before that people make money off viewers/followers on youtube, but how? Is youtube paying them? And if so, how does someone following or watching a video on youtube give youtube any financial gain? That's something I have never understood.

Thanks I didnt want to restate the same thing again. Getting someone else to say the same in a different way saves all the arguing. Ive had friends go through it and no witness still went to court. So I know here its still a case even if the witnesses dont show up.

Partly from advertising well mostly from advertising. But now they "offer" a membership fee also for added content.
