Ornate and friend(s)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's true Ornates are bit harder to tell if it's wild caught or captive bred. But judging from headshape and pattern, I would lean towards it being captive bred. Rob909 Rob909 posted a picture of a wc ornate earlier in this thread.

I did? I’ve had that guy since he was a tiny little baby, I never knew it was WC.

From that angle, definitely looked wc. But if you could post more photos. That would be great.

Well that’s exciting. Thanks for all the input guys. It’s been such a mystery to me. I’m stoked to hear it’s a male. I’ve had it since it was just shy of 3”. I’d say he’s about 10” now. His colours are usually quite vibrant so if that is a CB trait, I would lean toward that. I’ve seen a few in stores that are much duller. As much as I want to find him a friend (or 2,3...) I don’t want to dump $100 on an ugly one when I picked this guy up for $10. If I’m going to spend that kind of money I want it to be something I actually like.

Love to see more pics of yours Rob909 Rob909

How the head shape differs between a WC and CB? I have a CB ornate (about 6-7") to compare to.
