Forgot to mention why it is bad though. The high Protein is far to high for a flowerhorns sensitive digestive system. Protein should be 35 to 45% versus the 65% on okiko which I believe is the highest on the market probaly making it the worst pellet to feed your flowerhorn. and I guarantee it will eventually lead to disease and an early death if of you continue to feed it. I have also heard mix “opinions” on whether their is hormones in it but they don’t guarantee it so I wouldn’t trust it. Their is also a lot of fake okiko sold as the real thing that quickly kills your flowerhorn apparently but there are ways to tell fake from real. Also if you look at the little ingredients that are even shown. Their is nothing a fish should actually eat. Sure it may color up your flowerhorn quickly and quite a lot but that is for impatient people who don’t give enough to properly research the food they are feeding. It can really negatively effect the long term health of the fish and guarantee an early death. I believe bio gold and NLS will do the same thing but may take longer but in a more natural way that will promote the long term health of your fish.
You need patience man. I consider what fish people cull trash flowerhorn. Your flowerhorn looks great.
Ok I plan on keeping him. I don’t think he has the genetics but we will see. I read that they can take 18 months to hit just about their adult size. I don’t know if that’s entirely accurate and obviously no two fish are the same. He’s got the classic personality and is mean as piss. He won’t let me handle him lately and I got the bite marks to prove it lol
