questions on my flowerhorn..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this is the first post i’ve posted besides when i posted this in another forum bc i’m new and not sure how it all works. im just excited about learning more from people with experience instead of just people that have read things and take guesses. i didn’t take offense to anything said i understand i’m learning and that’s why i’m here. if you guys have the time if you wouldn’t mind post a few pictures of the food you use just to make sure i get the right ones it would be greatly appreciated. my fiancé and i are still kinda new to the hobby but fall more in love each day and grow closer to our fish i’m sad i’m having to rehome the “mystery” (RD) but it’s whats best for my flowerhorn.

Here are two of the foods I have. Mine loves the bug bites. Also the bio gold ones, they do have different size pellets. On the grand sumo, I’ve never had some, just heard from a good friend that they are really good. I’m hoping to get some soon. But I won’t include a pic of that due to the massive amount of fake knockoffs.

I was looking at your pics again. I’ve been told by another guy here not to use a neon or bright colored substrate. Also not to use black or white substrate. The best is river rock (a color of gravel) that are slightly larger than the “normal” rock. They are usually sized between a pea and a marble.
