I subscribe to 7 fish channels...
I'm a fan of Joey. I like Joey's energy. He doesn't claim to know everything, but I can see how it comes off that way. His channel has changed over the years and people hate him for that. Personally, I think it worked for him. You guys have to remember that YouTube is his business. If he finds something that works, he's going to run with it. It's a smart move. Regardless of all the people who complain, "I supported you from the beginning and now you've turned into whatever this is!" needs to step back. If you don't like it anymore, unsubscribe. It's pretty simple. Just watching him, just to hate on him still supports him.
I also watch Dustin's Fish Tank. Personally, I feel like he's just spitting up the first thing that he finds on the internet regarding fish. His plant skills are novice at best, but again...sometimes I enjoy his passion for the hobby. I think he comes off more of a DB than anyone else. Especially how he monetized the holy hell out of his cheap videos. I think there was 4-6 ads within a 10 min video.
Rachel O'Leary is super informative, but she definitely plays with the analytics of YouTube with 2 mins of information and 3 mins of music and B-Roll.
TM Aquatics has some nice stuff, but he definitely comes off as an Elitist and a Fish Snob when I watch him.
The Water Box started off strong and he's local to me. Chung focus more on plants, but seems to have disappeared as quickly as he showed up. He does live videos from time to time now.
RyoWatanabe is a young kid. It's just good to see someone young enjoying the hobby as much as he is.
Swhisky admits he's not the most informative when it comes to fish, but his cinematography and editing skills are quite impressive. At least to keep me interested.
I watch other popular channels from time to time, but they don't get me enough to subscribe. I think Cory comes off as a DB sometimes. He seems arrogant in some of his videos and promotes certain products that he wants to sell. The people I subscribe to are just entertainment and I feel like they all have their flaws, but I'm just going to enjoy what I enjoy. Again...you can't take YouTube as your ultimate information of fish keeping. Compare notes from here, YouTube, FB groups, etc.
Tazawa Tanks, Solid Gold, and Pecktec are other channels that I've come across and enjoy, but not enough for me to hit that subscribe button.
