. . .Children that small should NEVER be left unattended in a vehicle under any circumstances, especially if it is running . . .

It's illegal here. But every summer another kid gets hurt in a car.

Parenting is like motorcycling. It doesn't matter who has the right of way. On a motorcycle you'll stop or seriously regret it.

It doesn't matter if a parent takes every logical and illogical precaution. If your kid gets hurt, it's on you, forever.

Hello; The above story is for those living in or planning to move to Florida. Hey J jaws7777 I hope you do not live in this city.
So when we plan to move I guess this sort of thing is another item to check out. Who would have thought you could get big fines for some of these things.
I get that towns want to have neat looking streets and properties. $100 dollars a day for a dirty pool and tall grass seems steep to me.

One hundred grand?....sounds like they are trying to take the woman's house.

Hello; If I read the story right she had left the house and it was in the process of foreclosure. The catch appears to be that for seven months her name was on the title while the paperwork was being done I guess. Any way the johnny on the spot city inspector started the fines and apparently she did not know about them.
Some of the other fine stories are just as bad but for less money. The one about being fined for fixing a roof after a hurricane is one that stuck out to me.

Story looked familiar so I didn't even check the link.I think we discussed this one over on another forum a while back.I seem to recall something about the owner having someone in place who was suppossed to look after the landscaping but that person had stoppedfor some reason.

This is why property owners have liability insurance.

If I lived in Florida with tall grass and a green pool, I think I'd be worried about gators.

I have the Californian's view of Florida, as being overrun with alligators and geriatric widows.

Looks like most pool owners down there gate their property in or,at least their pools.

That's really insane......and they are serious.

Yep they are totally serious. Really great to see them tackling the real big problems like that :screwy:

Makes me think of that Big Bang episode where Sheldon's Mom visits them in California and keeps getting told "Oh we don't say ____ out here". Finally she looks at him and says "You know it's a wonder you people out here can even speak at all"
