Hello; The sad but apparently true situation is they have totally convinced them selves this is rational behavior. On top of that my understanding being they do not seem to be able to recognize how many things their way of doing things has screwed up. Also they apparently are self convinced that their ideas should be forced onto the rest of us.
My guess is the ones who championed this edict are sitting smug and happy about it. "Oh look that guy just fell into a person hole>"

They rioted and burned cars because they didn't like the speaker at the university. It's our antifa stronghold.
