Well, the freshwater clams I ordered from eBay finally arrived today. It took a whole week for them to arrive. I was very concerned about them arriving alive. They arrived and they were still closed (their shells) that was a good sign. Any whom I acclimated them to the water, the usual way. Then released them. It did not take long and they were burrowing into the subtrate. They are now happy as a clam!

John, I remember picking up these huge clams from Lake of the Woods back in 1971.
We just stumbled on this huge bed of clams where some dirt road ended in the lake.
I've never seen anything like it since. These were 6" to 8" oblong clams and strong as hell.
We tried to raise some on the porch, but it didn't last more than 2 weeks.

Glad they survived the ship.I'm always leary about having fish delivered during this time of year.

Hey,whatever works for ya!

Just curious how you plan on feeding them??? Coz i’ve often heard you need to give them a lot of green water due to them being filter feeders...

It would be good to make a greenwater system that you can pull food from. It's fairly easy to make! To make infusoria drop some fruit/veg clippings in a jar and let it go cloudy. Once it clears up it's ready to feed :D

I have been looking into a green water tank. I was thinking about growing it in a window. I guess I could put it in the aquarium. I was thinking about putting them in the green water tub if I need too. I need to keep them fed for a couple of months until I get my backyard pond built.
I sometimes order things late at night without thinking it through... ;)
Trapdoor snails are coming next.
I ordered Emu eggs off ebay once. Now I have 2 six foot tall emus.
