Buncha hypocrites!
Many of the guests, including Leonardo DiCaprio, who has his own climate change foundation have described global warming as the biggest threat to future generations but according to press reports the attendees were expected to show up in 114 private jets and various yachts.

going to lecture us on how our BBQ grills pollute and we are bad people if the engine on our lawn mower is not California approved!
Hello; Wish I had the energy to go thru all this stuff again. Did it back in the 1970's although we did not focus on a specific thing like global warming. Had a notion back 45 + years ago things were going to get bad. Biggest error I made so far was thinking it would take this long. I had imagined the stuff would hit the fan when in my 50's. I will be 72 in just over two weeks and while it is underway for sure, it is not yet as bad I imagined decades ago. Worse is on the way.
Pretty much no matter what "fix" anyone can come up with now it is pretty much too late to avoid some of the serious consequences. A problem I see with most "fix the environment" scenarios now and the last many years is they usually ignore the base problems and are way too expensive for most people.

Figure my actions have done more at the individual level that many of these soap box celebs. I have a 2001 car which has gotten near 35 mpg over time. By keeping it 18 plus years I save the environmental impact of the manufacture of a new one. I use between 800 and 900 gallons of water a month on average. My electric bill the last two months was under $60 and by running the AC sparingly it has been that way every summer. My heat pump bill has not been over $110 but one time in over nine years. I could list a few more practices but perhaps the biggest thing I did was back around 1975 when in my mid-twenties was have a vasectomy. Biggest personal benefit since in my view it has been and continues to be population that has been and is driving our major issues. Hence since we have a huge population now there are few effective measures to be taken. There is only so much we can cut back on to help us out of the current mess.

Oh by the way I have two old push mowers each at least 15+ years old and still running. They even still have a throttle. So if I junk them to get a California compliant new mower how many years to break even on environmental impact when new manufacture impact is factored in. My old mowers cannot be that much more polluting than a new gas mower. The new ones burn gas also.

I read somewhere that several glaciers are expanding. I wonder if that was on the agenda at their fancy meeting.

I'll see your bet a raise you! I am 38 YO, been a bicyclist my entire life. Never had a license, had a car once, I inherited drove it maybe 6 miles. Though I will admit, I wont hesitate to go with a friend as he drives his truck shopping, etc.

Many people dont believe me when I tell them that. It's true, between being hardheaded in my late teens to mid 20's and being in and out of institutions, and my love of cycling, I just never drove. Not saying I never will, just saying.

Thats actually pretty cool. What made you choose to not pursue a license and 4 wheels ?
