I know next to nothing about construction so plz excuse if this is a stupid question: just wondering why these buildings seem to utilize a lot of wood compared to most modern buildings, does it relate to making more ideal conditions for the whiskey/bourbon making process? (e.g. like maybe the building 'breathes' better or something)?

Well I guess that explanation makes plenty more sense than my 'breathable building' theory lol.

They use wood because it fluctuates with the temperature, so yes it breathes better i guess you could say. I asked the same question to my foreman and the wood adds to the flavor of the bourbon (the taste isn't just from the barrels we aren't even allowed to use cedar in the construction of the building because that will affect the Flavor of the bourbon)

Dloks ordinarily yes wood would be cheaper but for the amount that we are using it’s more expensive it could be done in metal but it wouldn’t taste right and that’s not bourbon

I may be mistaken but the wood to build a building does not come from the amazon but is home grown.

not to say amazon not getting raped, but you do not waist good mahogany on structure building. Use renewable pine.
