Hi all
What type if any can cope with higher temp ranges of around 27 degrees long term?
Most tropical Channa should do well
Not needed, the ones collected from West Bengal don't need no cold temps. As far as i know Channa Aurantimaculata need a Winter time with lower temps.
I would go with Pleuropthalma or Marulioides.
You can even keep them with tankmates.
I kept aurantimaculata in southern India, i live in a place where summer temps are 38-40 deg celcius.my auranti stop eating, stop moving and get cloudy eyes at 28degrees after about 6 months.
if the snakehead comes from that region of india then it need colder temps, if its from malaysia indonesia and other tropical countires then its ok.
they make good feeders for your other fishes...I keep my asiaticapair in 26c all year long without any problems. They breeds like rabbits in a pace i cant get rid of the fry
