Over the rainbow
Has anyone else noticed more and more ads for people asking to take in free fish, claiming it's a rescue and then another post from the same person selling fish. The idea is great don't get me wrong, but makes me cringe when I see people doing that to make a few bucks.

you mean like a bait then switch? ad free rescue fish, then you have to pay to get it?
Seen this recently! Guy on my local club was desperate to move his gold nugget and had to have it gone asap etc etc, I offered a spot at my place and he wants $80...

Yes I’ve seen this. A guy on one of the fb groups I’m in does this. Says he’s a rescue, but you can easily tell the fish are for his personal tanks. He then sells fish as he gets bored of them or does trades.

Not what I’d consider a “rescue”. Just taking in unwanted fish and selling at his leisure. Something anyone can do and is really just flipping. To me a rescue should have more of a purpose then just personal gain or interest.

If that person has decent tanks to house the fish it's not necessarily a bad thing. Those large fish that are "rescued" often have no where to go otherwise, or their owner can no longer provide what the fish need. But certainly that's not what bonafide fish rescue does.

it's a chicken sh** way to make money and certainly unethical, but some folks are "flippers" .. my definition of a flipper is a person that regularly takes advantage of people's misery to make money.. real estate clowns started the "trend" and it caught on..
