Flowerhorn Newbie

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok, if you could have seen the giant mushroom heads the flowerhorn would get. True it's all about genetics but you can aid in its growrh. Do you think the giant heads are ever present in nature? Didn't think so
Flowerhorn are hybrid. They don't exist naturally in nature they are a genetic hodgepodge.

Here are some updated pictures after 24 hours in his new home. Eating like crazy and not shy at all. He's full of personality already. Can't wait to grow this guy out. I also upgrade lights so added a pic of the tank. What do you guys think of him? Also I named him Jeffrey.

I like the red on him. Just don't overfeed him in love ?. Keep updating the thread, I would love to follow progress on him.

I'm talking about cichlids in general. It's a well know fact they are hybrids..
Well you said it yourself it’s all about genetics so what part does shrimp play in improving kok growth? Did you happen to read the posts that Ruturaj Ruturaj linked?

Fishenvy Fishenvy don't take it in a wrong way. I just don't believe shrimps/prawns are going to provide anything more than pallets would. Pallets are actually safer and kind of complete meal for fish. As flowerhorns are omnivores mix food is better for them than meaty foods.
