IMO, gyms are for folks that need phys therapy and those without the motivation toward constructive work.
If your big goal is to look buff, well have fun.

I moved some stone slabs yesterday, and lots of packages. We stocked the pantry and 2 refrigerators.
We hit the Dr's office, EECU credit union, Tractor supply co., the nice Walmart, Chevron, Lowes, Valley Rod & Gun, and cruised thru Old Town to check out the businesses. Most here are somehow surviving. Outdoor restaurants were busy. Lowes is booming. Walmart too.

Today I have some woodworking and cleanup, stain and painting too.

The fish are all eating like pigs. They fight over food. It's pretty funny to watch little Redeye chase off much larger Dyson.
Dyson as a juvie. He's now over 10" long.

Redeye is 1/4 his weight. Half as long. Twice as mean.

With 2 footlong monsters in the patio tank as well, we have daily pleco fights.
I've been feeding them all the asparagus stems, which they love, plus algae wafers and bogwood.
That bog wood is like a sponge, and they ablate it constantly.

Always fun! When I finish exams on Saturday I will finish my food drier and continue fixing up some OOOOLD Stanley Planes we found in the garage

Hello; I also will not be heading back to a gym right away. In fact I do not know if my gym has survived the economic crunch. My reason for being hesitant is that I have two of the bad comorbidities. I am old and have one other. For younger healthier people the risk of a bad outcome from an infection is much lower.
I could make a case either for or against easing restrictions depending on which fear I pinned the case on. However I will not. Been thru that and know it does not work out. The stuff of a private message I suppose. I will add a bit of trivia.
Found a recording I made a few months ago. It is of one of the last XFL football games played. I have been watching the game when I take breaks. NY vs Dallas. I had come to like the XFL format after watching a few games. The games moved quicker among other improvements. Worth watching anyway. That league was a victim of at least in part the new virus. Might not have made it anyway as it was a new experiment. I may have college football next fall, maybe???.
I did not get to struggle thru the 24 hours of LeMans nor will the Tour de France occupy July this year. I did get the 24 hours of Daytona back in January. Little did I suspect at that time how the world would change. As Stephen King might say "the world moved on" . Could we somehow be in a King like story decided by a cosmic roll of the dice of blind chance? A tipping point of fate where the tiny speck of a virus started the dominoes falling including not only a health domino but some others I will not name as well.

For me the lack of a gym is not such a loss so far. I am still in the spring and have been active around my home. I have grass to push mow and things to fix. You are heading into winter I guess. Good luck with you decision.

I remember when I was 19 and having a serious accident and reading "The Stand" by Steven King when in hospital, it does feel a bit like we are living through the early part of the book at the moment. Recovering from that accident is what actually got me into the gym, now I go for several reeason. Ego is part of it I must admit, I also used to work in construction and now am a sales rep so it helps with the decline in fitness now im in my 40s. I was shocked how quickly i lost fitness when i switched jobs years ago. Theres also the social aspect, I dont go out drinking or anything anymore so its nice to catch up with the guys at the gym. Its the 1 thing I do thats just for me, most other things revolve around family these days (even my daughter has infiltrated the fishkeeping which i love but....) so its nice to have a few hours per week just to do something by myself, its something beneficial too. I dont want to be one of those guys telling my wife i have a late meeting and sneaking off to watch strippers and get drunk as seems to be the pattern among a lot of my workmates lately!

I guess i will see how the infection rates o the next few days and maybe just go in for a look to see what preceautions they have set up to prevent transmission and see how busy it is before i get carried away.

I've been working harder than ever all through the pandemic because we've been down to a skeleton team. The few guys who were furloughed are back now so I will be putting in a much needed holiday request form for 2 weeks off, possibly for the last week in june/first week in July.

I need to build a new canopy for my 180 to house my new led lights and the missus wants a few chickens out the back so I need to build a chicken coop too. All the places I need for supplies are starting to open again now so it's just falling nicely for me to get on with these jobs.

However, if things getting back to normal causes a second wave of infections because we've lifted precautions too soon, I just hope I manage to get all my supplies first before there's another lock down!

I was supposed to go for jury duty Monday but I managed to postpone it until the middle of September. I had already postponed it once due to the Covid virus, from March. My original service was supposed to start the day after the lockdown.

I would find it interesting to serve on a jury but unless I lied to the lawyers they will never let me be on one.

The last thing that a modern lawyer wants on a jury is a conservative redneck looking guy that knows more about computers than they do and is older than them.

Update on my Mom, she is considered recovered along with 36 other residents and 41 staff members.:headbang2They temporarily put her on Medicare to allow enhanced daily care which included additional feeding, nutrition and health checks for about 1 month and just put her back on Medicaid. The facility has been great on updates plus posting pics on social media.

I'm still looking forward to visiting once they lift the order on nursing homes regarding visitations. I'm sure there will still be restrictions about requiring a face mask and maintaining social distance but who cares, at least I'll be able to see her in person.

Years and years ago a work mate of mine went on jury service. He absolutely loved the experience and I asked him how I could apply for it. He said they summon you, you don't apply for it. My summons never came through the door and I just completely forgot about it. Fast forward 30 years and I finally got THE letter. Unfortunately for me those 30 years were peppered with a few colourful incidents which meant I received a second letter a few days later informing me that my services were not required after all. You need a whiter than white criminal record. My bad!:duh:

What sort of delinquents are we dealing with here  :banhim:

Hello; Turns out there can be a downside of surviving a covid19 hospitalization. Especially if you are in the hospital 62 days. A 70 year old survived and got a bill of over a million.
I get that 62 days is a long stay. I guess I will have to stay home and tough it out if I get sick with it.

There is some better news about the virus lately. I best not post any of it here after the Ebola 2 thread was locked and a warning was issued to not start such a discussion in a different thread. Perhaps in a PM is OK?

Glad to hear!

I like to think of myself as a more mature, sensible and sophisticated delinquent nowadays.

I don't do as many arms deals as I used to, I fell out with the Colombians regarding the drug trafficking, the ABH and GBH accusations are few and far between nowadays, the fraud squad have gone quiet, though interpol are annoying at times. Nowadays I just look after my fish and take great pride in growing my "exotic" plants, though the aroma seems to be attracting the local police!

I really fancied that jury service too :grinyes:
