Need info on amazon leaf fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Suppose it may have been too much to hope this would be a solid, small, predatory fish I could have without having a giant tank...

You could still do the Amazon fish but make sure that feeders are treated prior to feeding them to the leaf fish.

That still requires an extra tank and weekly cost that really adds up over time I'm sure. Is there anything that could fit in this tank that isn't that much of an investment?

What size is the aquarium?

Ahh I didn’t notice your age before, you’re one of the younger ones here, glad to have you here bud.

looks like tlindsey beat me to it

It is 29 gallons. Has some basic peaceful fish but as I said I'm looking to move in to something more aggressive.

Do you want it to be active, colorful, personable, etc? Just cool looking?

Not sure I've ever been called bud before...

I suppose I am...and sadly it limits me to only having tanks in my own room and having to go through all sorts of parental channels before I can do anything...it's a 29 gallon.

Hopefully you didn’t take it the wrong way, I call lots of people here bud.

What do you think of this fish? Grows slowly and doesn’t require life food.
African butterfly fish are good too and would work in a 29, they are expensive at around $9-$15 each though

Someone else giving advice mentioned mollies as feeders not guppies. If and when I step up to trying something like this, it makes a ton of sense...larger fry at birth, edible size faster, hardier.
