They're sneaky buggers
Indeed, it took off immediately when it noticed me unlike the cats that I see which will watch me.

Some of our fury uk wild animals are seen during the day, such as rabbits and grey squirrels. But others such as foxes, badgers and hedgehogs, although quite common, are rarely seen during daylight hours. If you do see them during daylight hours it's not usually under good circumstances, because they're generally seen as roadkill!

I am really starting to appreciate the difference between being able to do electrical work and being a practiced Electrician.

I am hoping that a real electrician never comes to look at my sloppy EMT conduit job. You can see the marks where I had to straighten out my goofy bends a bit. The zinc galvanizing is soft and it basically shows everything you do to the conduit.

I’m sure they’ve seen worse but I am no professional. Fortunately it’s difficult to see the defects from these photographs.

I see nothing wrong with that however I know nothing about electrical work. Now that’s the difference between someone like me knowing nothing and someone like you that knows something, you’d notice a piss poor job while I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Good job on doing it though.

I cannot yet do a good box offset. I’ve done it about four times but getting it to come out perfect has not happened. This means I have to tweak the conduit again and again to get everything correct, and you can see the marks I made every time if you look in person.

I’m not saying that I did a poor job on this or if there is anything particularly bad about it. It’s just that a real professional would notice that this was done by an amateur.

You might notice that I ran some Romex inside of conduit and this is not normally done. It’s not necessarily good or bad but it depends on the exact conditions of service.

But as a general practice nobody does this because it’s difficult. It takes more time to do.

I did it because I had some pieces of wire that I wanted to use up. They were perfectly good and because I didn’t need any other wires in the conduit so there was no problem with having enough space.

You can only put so many wires inside the conduit, and it depends not only on the size of the wires and the size of the conduit. It depends also on the type of wire, the temperature of the environment, length of the wire, and the power required.

Your wiring may have insulation qualified for 600 V. You may be able to put nine wires in a conduit running 120v, But maybe only three if they run 400.

These matters can also vary from city to city because of the particular power service provided there. And of course they are different Internationally.

I think you're pretty much the type of guy who can turn his hand to anything. Me, I certainly know my limits and I will not cross any boundaries, especially where electrics are involved. My brother is an electrician, I have his phone number, and I use it should the need arise.

My dad used to fix televisions on the side, and so I was digging into that stuff at a young age. When I was 11 we built a crude telegraph set and strung wires between our house and our neighbors. I remember spending my entire allowance on magnet wire to wind the coils.

Everybody wanted to play with it but nobody wanted to learn Morse code. So we made up our own code.
