Meanest SA/CA cichlid you currently own

My psychotic male Blue Acara. Even my slightly larger female Salvini is scared of him and very hesitant to make any physical contact when they are having territorial disputes.

By conventional cichlid standards, my 3 inch JD. But since he is still small and a wuss, I guess it has to default to my blood parrot. My only cichlid that has aided in the murder of other fish. I’m sure my answer will change once the Dempsey packs on a few more inches though.

Not mean in the grand scheme of things but i have a severum I bought at the LFS fully grown but heavily damaged. He's healed up and has the best red color ive ever seen. Something is off about this fish however.

This fish is constantly biting both my JD and the 9 inch oscar that share the tank. since the oscar and the severum swim around each other a lot, I witness the severum nipping at the sides of the oscar all day. Ive been watching cautiously in case the oscar finally realizes he is at least twice the mass of the severum and beats the hell out of him.

My kribs (African, I know) tore the throat out of my rainbow shark while protecting fry, I never knew they were that mean. And my rainbow nips at others all day long. Some cichlids are just weird and break all the rules.

Just goes to show even the “peaceful” cichlids can become aggressive.

I'm a fairly new fish keeper i've been in the hobby for about a year and a half. The meanest fish i've had so far is a Jack Dempsey Cichlid. Right now he's only like 3 inches but he is a absolute terror running all my fish around even larger fish except my Blood Red Parrot. I'm going to re-home him as he's too much and I knew they could be aggressive but I was hoping he wouldn't so I could include him into my community tank. It seems the rest of my fish are alright even the Fire mouth Cichlid. I'm not happy to have to let him go, he is a truly beautiful fish even at his size. I might actually sell him on here if anybody wants him. Please PM me if you do, i will post a thread later.
