Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone had experience keeping red belly piranhas and arowana together?
I remember from about 9 years ago I kept a silver aro and some RBPs together (both the aro and RBP were juveniles), and eventually the aro was eating the RBPs. So I had to separate them. Never tried them both as matured adults though.

The RBP were moved to a 3ft x 6ft tank which they shared for two years with various cichlids like convicts, oscars and polleni. As RBP keepers will know, they are not the aggressive killers they are made out to be, and lived fine with the other fish as they grew up with them. Although adding new fish didnt end well as that was associated with food. They only happily lived with the fish they grew up with.

Anyway, its a very rare opportunity to come across RBPs here, and I have that opportunity. I have an Aro sharing a tank with geo tapajos, and was thinking of rehoming the tapajos and putting the RBP in. The aro is between 45 - 50cm in length (Banjar Red), the RBPs are snack size at the moment, but would be grow out for a bit until they reach the geos size.

I am not convinced this is the best idea, but thought I would ask the question anyway as that is what these forums are for :)

I absolutely agree with Deadeye Deadeye and Bbuckley Bbuckley I've been keeping fish for years and never heard of those 2 species together in a home or public aquarium.
