Interesting, unique fish for 120 gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It wouldn’t be necessary, but would look cool to have insectivorous fish and lizards/frogs mixed in a pauladarium.
Archers can live in a filled tank, they just will spit on you instead of bugs.

haha, that would be kind of cool. plus it would keep the stupid cat at bay. how many would I need to put in there?

Probably species dependent. The freshwater clouded archer you could probably have 2-4 depending on tankmates.

Geryi piranha, high fin red wolf, or I agree with Deadeye Deadeye exodons everything you want a thankful of piranhas to be like but actually will do the feeding frenzy when. Your there

Puffers are also cool. Too small for a fahaka, but it is good for amazons, schoutodini, and most of the lurkers.
Or a leopard ctenopoma + bichirs + butterflyfish and you’ve got a nice African biotope(TheMaskedShadow‘s ears perking up at that).
?

Delhezis are cool. Maybe a large school of Humphead Glassfish. Peacock Eel. Maybe a lungfish. Dragon Puffer.

i personally think that parachromis and amphilophus are really cool.
my favorite large cichlids are red tiger motas jags umbees and pikes.

if i had a 120 right now id turn it into a riverine amazon environment for my red pike who takes my breath away and some leporinus.

for a long time ive wanted an electric fish tank with knife fish and morymids but ive heard there electrical fields bother eachother.

another tank ive wanted to do is mudskippers with puffers and other gobies.

ive done very predatory frogs with big cichlids.

finally id consider stocking it with neons corys gouramis etc while this sounds pretty boring for a big tank i think its the easiest to get a stunning tank. and if you have collecteritis like i do then its nice because you can just keep adding more fish as you fall in love with them.

my last suggestion is maybe to just set it up plant it or something and just let it go until you find youre obsessed with a fish because i think it happens to all of us and then we wish we stocked our tank differently or want to buy another tank.

Seems too short for a fahaka, it would fare better in a 6 ft tank.
this is true but everyone i know keeping them has them in 75g. however i do agree with you.

congo tetras with centipede knife fish(act like river debris and swim in place) would be absolutely majestic in a nicely planted tank

I strongly agree with that last part. Very annoying when you find yourself obsessed with a fish and can't house it, also no better feeling than finding that you can house that fish you are obsessed with. If you keep scrolling on the internet its only a matter of time until you feel that strong urge to get a certain fish.
