Smaller ones would be fine, dels, sens and similar sized typeswould they do well in a tank that tall, as well as not having a super wide footprint?

if I were to do bichirs, which I think would be super cool, at what size could they go in that tank? could I put little ones in there and let them grow out?
Tbh I've always grew out my small 3 inch or smaller Bichir in a smaller aquarium prior to adding them to the 55 gallon or the 180 gallon.https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/grow-outs.656061/

gotcha, ok. If they were the only ones in there, would that still not be a great idea to put them in as smaller/babies?
I suggest floating plants live or plastic because young Bichir feel secure. Also if it's just the poly's they won't have to worry about being out competed by faster eating fish so you may be fine.
