Is this tank overstocked

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I disagree that your fish will kill the pleco. Common plecos are tanks I have one with my hyper aggresive breeding oscars. If the fish you have can fit in a 40g then they most likley wont kill the pleco
Yea trust me on this one, my fish don’t like visitors lol

Rtc/tsn Rtc/tsn what fish do you have? from what I remember you have some smaller cichlids and a cat hybrid
Arowana, rtc/tsn, eel catfish, sun catfish, giraffe catfish, salvini cichlid a jack Dempsey and blackbelt cichlid. My main concern would be with my sun catfish, jack Dempsey, blackbelt and eel catfish they’re the most aggressive, the blackbelt is generally peaceful he just absolutely devours anything new including my hand during tank maintenance, the jack Dempsey is scared of everything but when he has a problem with something he quickly eliminates the problem and the sun and eel catfish are just climbs eaters and go after anything just for the sport

a pleco is literally a tank but I agree you should not add it. not because it would get hurt but because that tank is way too over stocked
Everything is still growing, there’s no problem in water quality or the health of fish also I’m going to move arowana and bullseye rtc/tsn to a 75 when I get it in the following months and give a month to cycle and move a lot of other stuff around

Did not read the whole 6 pages of this thread admittedly. The tank on the first page is quite overstocked, as I'm sure you've been told.
Also seems like you have a very poorly planned monster tank going? Not trying to be rude, but you are looking to upgrade RTC/tsn and an arowana to a 75 gallon? Which you won't even have for months... What will you get out of that, a couple more months? Then what?
I don't think you get how quickly these fish grow. Fish like these need lots of resources to be provided for. Unless you can realistically have a huge tank within the next year or so, you should sell them now while they are young and easy to sell. We have seen lots of teenagers post about their big dreams, planning a 500 gallon plywood build for their baby arowana. I have yet to see it actually happen how the person wants, always either ends badly for the fish, or the person grows up a bit and does some research and sells the fish.

In a 40?

Ohhhhh god.

Ropefish:

They need large tanks. 75 gallons atleast. They are very aggressive

Angelfish:

They need large tanks as well. Minimal 55g imo. Angelfish are part of the Cichlid family, and are aggressive as well.

Common Plecos:

Plecos are poop machines. You do not need 2 of them in a tank unless you are a pleco-holic. Common Plecos can grow VERY large, 2' large.

Community Fish:

Ropefish will eat all community fish, I promise. Barbs are aggressive, and should be the smallest fish in the tank. Tetras prefer large schools of themselves. Buy 7 or 8 of one kind!!!!

Please give away your fish. We can help you start over. Without the overstocking, and putting VERY large fish in VERY small enclosures.

The frogs alone max out
Ropefish aggressive? Where did you read that? I doubt that you are speaking from experience. ROpefish are some of the most peaceful/least agressive fish out there. Your probation status is well-earned I see, you're just misinforming people left and right.
