What is your most expensive fish you have now?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
To add to the thread, my current most expensive fish are my male-female pair of albino senegal bichirs at 6SGD each. Close behind are my 2 Ctenopoma acutirostre, 3 Chalceus erythrurus and 4 Ctenolucius hujeta at 3SGD each.

The most expensive fish I bought (that I no longer have) is a Hampala ampalong for 12SGD.

If clown loach keepers look at the prices of tiny skinny clown loach in the stores, and then compare them to the large fat contented group in your tanks, then it becomes apparent pretty quick how much even a 6" clown loach must be worth, let alone the very old monster clowns we occasionally see.

My pack of 11 must be worth a few bob. But as previously mentioned by C Cardeater , I don't think many owners of large clowns would let them go anyway.

+1. The fact that they usually take half a decade to reach even 10-15 cm is a big driver of those prices.
My local aquarium store had a single one that size (closer to 10 cm) going for $70, for example.

My lfs has a massive show tank, probably 500 or more gallons. They have a group of around 8 massive clown loaches.

Dragon puffers are in the $100-150 range even in my local classifieds (cheaper than retail). You sure got a steal there lol.
