Kinda wanted to hear your experiences with them. Got a 40 Breeder tank but its fully stocked so doubt I can get them. Just wanted to learn more about them since internet wikis dont seem that reliable and would rather hear some experience. Thanks in advance !

I have 2 Banjo Catfish that are a few yrs old they bury themselves in the sand.
Only appear at night or when hungry lol.
They will eat fry buy never witnessed it.
Feeding easy small Catfish pellets.
I have a Spotted and a Striped Raphael Catfish.
Like most catfish will be active when lights out. During the day both hide in pvc pipe.
Omnivores will probably eat small fish.
Never had a Synodontis Featherfin but had Synodontis Angelicus.
The Angelicus was in with Mbuna and didn't take stuff from any of them lol.
Ate pellets and other foods that fell on the bottom.
Active during the day.

Oh wow thanks ! My LFS just brought in a lot of Catfish species and Banjo along with the unknown Synodontis looked really cool. Sad that I cant get them... Would a single Banjo be too much bioload ? Haha... I always loved Synos but I dont know their type (they are really small possibly young). And dont know If it would be happy in my tank.

No simply on the issue of the Banjo Catfish not getting food. Some species of fish should be in specialized setups only.

I've had a featherfin catfish and would not keep one in anything less than a 1.83m tank. They will grow to 20-30 cm, are a robust-bodied fish at that size, and get feisty if there is not enough space (ie: <1.83m tanks).

Alright thought so. Thanks for everything. Seems like I will get a Synodontis when I get a bigger tank.

Banjos are super cool looking but rarely seen, I don't think I will ever get another one since I like scaped tanks

would you reccomend any solitary small catfish species ? Ever since I rehomed my Corys I had this itch for Catfish. We are thinking of moving the Platies to my other tank so maybe making room for a catfish. Also apparently the "featherfin catfish" I saw at the LFS was an "Upside down Catfish" so there is that. I love catfish and would love one in my 40 breeder. I can make room if need be (possibly move fish over to my smaller tank If they can live in it or just give the platies to someone I know that loves live-bearers).
