Can I pit these fish in a 29 gallon aquarium?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So I'm not going to get Corydoras. Since I have a gravel bottom tank, and apparently that's not ideal for them.

Would one or two hillstream loaches work as the bottom feeders? My tank has plenty of water flow, and is currently set at 75F

When I set up my 10g betta tank, I'm definitely going to get a few Cory's since that tank will have sand

Can I introduce live plants to the 30g before its cycled?

For all I know the tank is already cycled, but it will be about 2 days until the my master test kit is delivered

But can I go ahead and introduce the live plants?

Not sure about when to add the plants, I haven't tried live plants yet but will be soon. As for the cycling though, i used Dr Tims bottled bacteria, and assume the process is similar o what you have. With mine it advised fish be added within 24 hours, because without an ammonia supply, the bacteria have no food source and would die off. So you can't just add it to an empty tank and let it run indefinetely without adding fish, or dosing with ammonia.

I threw some fish food in there to start the ammonia

My apologies 😆 Confused you with another member. Yes I like the pygmaeus corydora. I suggest atleast 8.
Lol! No problem. I am a little worried that the Cory's would not do well with the gravel.

I thought about getting a couple Hillstream loaches instead. I have good enough water flow in the tank
