I got mine when he was about 4 inches and kept him until he was 8 inches. At that point, he was just causing so many problems so I ended up getting rid of him.Gotta agree with you there and I've never even had one. Just the stories I've heard make me dislike them.
Agreed, I don't get why goldfish are supposed to be beginner fish, but never got in them either. Ditto with your other 4. I'm cool with any pleco under 6" but over that and it just freaks me out. Outside of tanganyikan cichlids under 6", can't say I'm a fan either. If I had to pick ONE to call my least favorite: Goldfish. I've watched them just swallow rocks trying to pick food out of the bottom, just don't see the appeal of any of them.
Otherwise, not a fan of African cichlids, flowerhorns, plecos, and knifefish just creep me out.
was that Viktors? thebiggerthebetterYeah, the genetically-fiddled monsters are bad enough...can't forget about the fish that are born "natural" and then undergo assorted mutilations to "improve" them.
I saw a pic of a large Giant Gourami recently which had an almost unbelievably uniform pattern of dots on its flanks. Turns out it was tattooed!
