B3D621A3-FCC9-4EAC-B0CA-016FED998C29.jpegIm not the greatest aquascaper in the world but here is my current setup. I also want to get some sort of ceramic pot or cave to help give a hiding spot. Ignore the bubbles on the glass I’ll wipe them when I get the chance. Filtration is a Fluval 407 and a large sponge filter from aquarium co-op. Lid is a polycarbonate sheet cut perfectly to not allow any gap with a small 2.5lb barbell plate on top to weigh it down from my home gym. Thanks for the vids too it gave me lots of neat information. I’ve been searching online and there are several reputable vendors who have red wolves for sale. Jason’s Plecos and Cichlids, Exotic Fish Shop, and Wet Spot.

Looks good! Personally I’d get more wood and rocks for hiding instead of pot just for a more natural look. Wolf fish like cover, so I’d add some floating plants. I used artificial reptile plants with suction cups attached to the top for my red wolf. New tanks always get bubbles on the glass lol
I’ve ordered from all three places and they’re all great.I’ll see if i can find a vid of my wolf fish setup

I want more wood too, but my lfs charges an arm and a leg for one. The tank looks really empty right now. I’ll try to source some driftwood from my local creek if possible. I’ll have to read my local laws about taking one. Show the video when you get the chance. I’d love to see it!

Nice! I’ll try to order some fake plants as well. It agree that I should try to give it a more natural look. Maybe some duckweed on top eventually as well.
I would avoid duckweed at all cost lol that stuff is horrible. I’m using hornwart and jungle and spiral val right now and those seem pretty cool . Try eBay for your driftwood, there’s some good deals.
When are you gonna order your wolf?

Guess lll skip the duckweed. I’ll look at some other floating plants because I’ve heard that it can help provide comfort. I’m probably going to order it soon, maybe around this weekend.

Check out hornwart, it’s a floating plant that grows really fast and can’t be killed. Duckweed sucks because it gets everywhere and in everything and is impossible to get rid of.

I’ll second duckweed being a pain with how it gets everywhere - but I do like it. Try looking into “giant duckweed,” it’s more attractive and gets larger.
Hornwort is really good too. One plant my wolf loves to hang out in is my tiger lotus (or some type of lily/lotus) - I’ll grab a pic when I can.

Hey everyone, thanks for all your help. I just placed my order for my red wolf fish off of Wet Spot. I’ll keep everyone updated. And of course, I’m open to name suggestions! Pics when he arrives!
