That also reminds me. Generally speaking male bichirs don't get as fat and they also don't get as big. Females get thicker and larger. Again this is just generally speaking, sometimes males do grow big/thick.

Yes, uppers and lowers can go together as long as the size is similar. Since you seem new to the hobby, I’d go with two AC110s since they’re good and easy to maintain

Makes sense, this WC sen was a male. I had a WC female that didn’t survive long after shipping, but that one was a little thicker

Most lids have a plastic piece at the back and you cut it around the HOB

Yes lots, if you’re on a budget, just go with a couple large sponge filters. Your maintenance schedule is much more important. Check eBay for used filters as well
