Hello! I have just noticed a small mark on one of my Delhezi Bichirs. I am unsure if it is a scrape or little nick from an object or if it is illness related. It had to have appeared between this afternoon and this morning. No signs of any abnormal behaviour since I noticed it. Water parameters are good, no changes to the tank recently, other fish in tank including another delhezi are normal and I don’t see anything strange. Very rarely if both of them go after the same piece of food I have seen them briefly kinda bite each other but it’s always very quick and not in a violent way. (They’ve been together since they were born and get a long perfectly) Also never had any previous health issues with the tank. Thank you in advance for any help.
I tried to get the best photos I can, let me know if additional ones are needed.

Looks like a scrape. Could be from your decor in the tank from the pics.

Ok! Thank you. I will obviously monitor it and what would be the best way to make sure it heals clean if that’s all it is. I was kinda leaning on it being a scrape too but I haven’t seen one scratched so I wasn’t sure. If it is that, it looks more like a rug burn kinda scrape rather than a road rash scrape? As in nothing too serious.

Scratch or scrape is fine to call to what you like. To me a scratch is small and not too noticeable. Either way it should heal up with clean water and food.
