Thinking of converting my 180g to a FOWLR, please talk me out of it....

Ended up going with 2 Octo 90 HOB classics for the skimmers. One on tank, another on the way. This is the tank so far. I have a small Niger Trigger too, but the phone freaked him out so he is hiding in the rocks.

Thinking of converting my 180g to a FOWLR, please talk me out of it....

Only decent one that will fit is the octo 1000 hob I will eventually get 2. Since I cannot plumb this tank without fighting water levels in the internal wet-to-dry, I will just get a couple reef octopuss hob's. Some of the inline ones are kind of crappy...I looked at other options. RIO has gone...

Thinking of converting my 180g to a FOWLR, please talk me out of it....

I succumbed, my trusty sidekick 'Uno' supervised the entire ordeal, while his dad poured 1500 lbs of seawater in the tank 🤣

Thinking of converting my 180g to a FOWLR, please talk me out of it....

Well not really in comparison, see if you have several tanks you can always have one project tank to scratch the itch. When I consolidate to one tank it really exacerbated how bonkers I could be surrounding this...cause bottom line I have accepted this is a total 'me thing.' Well, with the...

Thinking of converting my 180g to a FOWLR, please talk me out of it....

Well, you see I have over 15 years sober so there's that lol. I am pretty sure I have been to both lol. I am hoping by roasting my neurotic bs impulse/ideas it will work.

Thinking of converting my 180g to a FOWLR, please talk me out of it....

Yeah it would be....I most likely not going through with this...I hope. This neurotic phenomenon started happening when I went from multiple tank syndrome down to 1 display tank. When, I had 3 or more tanks life was good and stable. I always had one sw and some cichlid tanks. Now, in this apt...

Thinking of converting my 180g to a FOWLR, please talk me out of it....

Yeah there is only 1 skimmer in the world it seems that will fit this thing and its rated for 125g so would need one on both sides because it it an uniquarium...space is pretty tight. These things are supposedly designed for SW, but it is like they truly didn't design it for SW lol. Drilling it...

Thinking of converting my 180g to a FOWLR, please talk me out of it....

Thanks Esox, your a pal! I have always wanted a Fahaka or Mbu...you are correct, but know space for 500g or so....keeping a Dog Face, stars and stripes, or porcupine seemed more reasonable. I have more experience with SW, mainly reef keeping tbh. It is a trap for me though...don't want to act...

Longterm Oscar bloat - what can be done?

If the Oscar is eating adding the epsom to the tank will help...as well as soaking food in the solution; however, I would think feeding should be sparse to...fasting. I actually saved a few Africans with internal parasites with the pipette method I learned from @RD. before I actually new...

    Peaceful midsize cichlids?

Go Tangyanika...so many interesting species in that lake...btw those 3 x 4 foot tanks I was talking about were filled with Tropheus colonies...quite addictive, but I love them. Good luck!

    Peaceful midsize cichlids?

Maybe, since your water is higher ph and hard....maybe some West Andes species. Are you sure you just don't want to keep the Stalsbergi or Saums? I mean one at 8-10 inches would be a nice centerpiece for a 4 foot tank. Fish 12 and over mae a 4 foot tank look much smaller than it is imho...

True Tank Size For Oscar Cichlid.

I have gained much knowledge from coming here and learning from these guys. There is a marked difference between these laughable website recommendations and solid fishkeeper experience. Some information might seem abrupt at times, but it is honest and well grounded information. Petsmart also...
