    Heater for 100g ish aquarium

I always thought Jager were top of the line heaters. Since this one lasted you 8 years why not get another one? In the U.S a 300watt is only a bit over $30 which is relatively cheap when compared with it's contenders. Do you want to try a different brand?

    90g setup+filtration.

It looks like I owe you an apology for being so hardheaded. I truly don't wan't to argue, but what I've been told by other people conflict with what you say. By no means am I trying to be aggressive towards you, or anyone for that manner. So what I'm about to ask you is purely out of curiosity...

    Nitrates

That's a boatload of info you guys gave me. Thank you all! To be honest, yesterday was the first day I tested my water in a month. Now that I can properly do it I'm thinking twice a week. Maybe more because I'm currently doing a water change on the tank every other day. He's getting too big...

    90g setup+filtration.

@celebrist Yes, that too. My main reason is because I hate seeing dust or particles that have rested on the surface of the water. My fish tends to be quite dirty when eating, so it would be easier imo to clean a filter sock every couple days instead of sticking my net in the tank twice a day...

    Nitrates

Today I got in a water test and had Nitrates at 5ppm-ish. Here's the question: At which number do the nitrates become lethal? I know it's toxic to begin with but let's say it's at 2ppm over a week. Safe? Thanks in advance.

    90g setup+filtration.

@CarpCharacin Ahhh, now I realize the silly mistake I made with the sunglasses test. I tried it on my car and it came up with that pattern, so it was tempered. When I tested it in the room there was little to no sunlight. Thank you for clarifying. I personally never even knew that they made...

    90g setup+filtration.

Yes, I've looked into them. I just hate how they run off a siphon. Power outages are common in my area. Drilling shouldn't be too scary anyways. The tank, stand, and light all came for $100. I'm planning an selling the light for $100, so it's like getting a free tank+stand. If it shatters...

    90g setup+filtration.

Thanks guys. I only have room for a 20gallon tank (high) as a sump. If that helps. Also, about the glass, I do believe the bottom panel is tempered. I was planning on drilling the side although I'm not sure whether the glass is non-tempered in those locations. Note: I did do the sunglasses...

    90g setup+filtration.

Before I continue the setup of this tank, I have a few inquires. The first is filtration. I want 10x or more turnover running with surface skimming. I already have an Fx4. As the second filter I was thinking of an AC110, which should work just fine. However I have never had the experience of...

@FreshyFresh The site officially ended yesterday. At midnight I think. I tried going to it through my favorites bar and it pops up with it's start and end date. Your user was the same back on Ofish, right? I think I've seen it on older threads. @Go_redfish and how old is Lazarus?

Thanks again guys. I got my avatar of Felix, too. He's almost 9in now and will be moved to the 90 gallon as an upgrade eventually. I'll try upload a picture of will-be tank now. Yep, here it is. It looked much worse earlier, as it was used for salt. This is after all the scrubbing and use of...

    RIP Oscarfish Forum

Oops, forgot to introduce myself. I currently have 1 Lutino oscar named Felix (he has attitude issues). I've joined the forum for further knowledge on such large fish as well as help on a 90 gallon setup. Sorry this is a double post.
