This is not true. Prime will not starve the biological filter. Prime makes makes the ammonia and nitrite non toxic, but it is still useable by the bacteria in the filter. No water changes are need for fishless cycling. Simply add water, then add prime, then add ammonia until its around 3 or 4...

I agree. You should take out the fish and put them in a bigger tank or sell them, you said yourself they are cramped

If you are wanting aggressive or vicious fish piranha are not a very good choice. They are very fearful creatures and startle easily especially the red belly ones. If you want something that is going to bang the glass in a menacing way (and not out of fear) you should look into cichlids.

just get some monster goldfish, you'd need a natural gas pool heater for that sucka, a few aquarium heaters wouldn't even dent it outdoors

300 watts!?? I would say get a smaller pump! How much air and at what pressure does yours supply??? My coralife super luft pump is only 66 watts and is still unbearably loud. I have it running in my carport outside and run the airline around the outside of the house to my bedroom where my tanks...

Well i voted no.. i didn't check.. but i have an FX5 on a 50g with a 24 inch spray bar right now, and i also have an airstone in the tank.. so no.. i don't have a dead spot. the fish are on spin cycle until the 350g arrives

That's awesome, so sorry this happened :( my dad was telling me fish are amazing because they live in a liquid, an entirely different underwater environment. haha, sure presents some difficulties keeping them as pets
