i already found plans for the filtration: 300 gallon sump. sorry for not listening to you guys but i already found the info on what i need i just went on this site to see what fish you guys would suggest.

Then you shouldn't get upset with people for telling you to do your research. Not many here are going to recommend fish when you don't act as if you want to take anything from the real world experiences they've tried to gift to you.

How about going with fish you like?
I might recommend a school of 100 pygmy cory cats, or a colony of convict cichlids, or 30 bubble eye goldfish. Do you really want somebody else to decide for you?

I didn't decide until they gave me ideas and when I went to a huge aquarium place and they had lots of freshwater tanks. I liked some fish they had did some research and am getting those
Just curious, how old are you?
You should really get a 100gl and let that be your break in setup.
For what its worth, always over filter. DO NOT buy a filter that maxes out for the desired tank, That's trouble.
