Does anyone know anything about a juvenile bichir's external gills? One of them was missing one day, not sure if other bichir bit it off or it just fell off...does anyone know if the bichir is gonna be okay?

It may have just fallen off if it is still eating and moving normal wouldn't worry about the poly.
How big is it? They eventually fall off on their own. He'll be fine.
+1 most polys lose the external gills ones they hit 3"-5", but most senegals i see lost it earlier than that.
my del is around 8 inches and still has 1 external gil hanging on. but they all go eventually.
Wow what specie of poly is it? When my Ornates were that small I looked into a magnifying glass to see their 's lol.
hmm well maybe i just dont see them then? its too small?
