I actually don't mind the fact that there's invasive centrals. I mean they're never going to overpopulate an area. It's in their nature to kill other centrals in their territory. I guess that could be a slippery slope tho.

Could be any number of reasons they're here, and it may be different reasons for different species...

I'm hoping to get down to miami again in the next week or two...

For one, I talked to one of my high school friends today, and it turns out that he works for the FWC (florida fish and wildlife commission) so he might be able to help me get to places I normally couldn't access.

Secondly, I also obtained a diving flashlight, which will help me see better. I'm also considering diving in at dusk or night to see what I can catch.

Thirdly, I forgot to mention it last time I posted, but when I was along the edge, I swore I saw a baby green severum hanging around the rocks... I even watched it for a few minutes to make sure I was correct before trying to catch it... of course it got away from me, lol, otherwise I would have posted it!

I'll update during my planning, as last time took a lot of planning. This time I refuse to go home empty handed (or bucketed, lol)!!!

What about the gators?

I was wondering the same thing as Jason. Not too sure that you'd find me diving in the canals of South Florida, let alone at night. :WHOA:

The canal I was at had steep slopes and was in the middle of a neighborhood, so I doubt that its suitable habitat for a gator, but I ado wasn't thinking about that when I made that last comment...

Ok, so I'll think twice before night diving, lol
