I have room on my desk to set up a 10 gallon. What would you put in it? Im looking for something that's active and fairly easy to care for. I was considering fire belly toads and fire belly newts but id like to get some other suggestions.

If you guys have pics of your 10 gallon setups, please post them too...

a 10 would make a killer tatantual set-up...............just not in my house. LOL!!

Or tree forgs, I like them too.

I have two ten gallons. Check out my tank set-up

I keep my crocodile skink in a 10 gallon... Gong to need to upgrade someday though.

Firebelly toads and newts need colder temps(below 70F) to stay healthy. You could try pacific treefrogs. The males sing beautifully in the summer time. There are other natives you could try: DeKay's snakes, one of the native newt species, smaller ranids, etc. You can't really keep many of the popular species in a 10 gallon. African dwarf frogs are easy to care for after they start eating pellets and/or frozen foods.

pictus geckos are good too....... what about a mantis?

Mantids aren't exactly active. He said he wanted something active. Maybe one of the smaller day geckos? You could set the tank on one end so it was tall instead of long. I don't know if any of the smaller day geckos can live in a 10 gallon for life though.

How about a little crested gecko? I love my diego, he is fairly active, and doesnt mind coming out of the tank to watch some TV on my shoulder!

Also, you could have a small Pac-man frog in there for quite a while.
