My question is what is the baseline pH of your water before it goes into the pond? If it is lower than the pond pH then you may need to seal the pong sides and bottom with pool paint, gelcoat, or fiberglass.
yea id say get alot more filtration on it, (that never hurts), deffinitely lots of plants for airratoin cover for fish and stuff
by the way you must be one of the luckiest dudes alive, i think my parents would put me in exile if i ever mentioned anything about building a pond
what do you feed them? just throw in minnows, do they spook a little bit when they see your shadow or something?

This set up just crys out for a pair of bio-towers and a LOT more water flow to keep from having dead spots in the water. From the look of the water you have a fraction of the mechanical filtration you need as well. I would recomend a pair of 55 gallon plastic drums filled with filter foam. As far as plants go I would try catstail. You can use them to screen the barrels and bio-towers.
