Got the valves in and did a light test fill to get everything to settle out. I dry fitted the valves about 10 times to get the right placement to use 45s instead of 90s on the siphon and open standpipes. I figure it won't buy a ton more flow but may as well allow for as much as possible.
I used 3/4" foam insulation under the tank. It seems like everyone has an opinion on what to sue but I've done this with several acrylic tanks and it seems to work well. It allows a little cushion for error and won't compact.

Here's a video of some rotkeils I got from Jeff Rapps. They're about 3" and I'm not sure if they were trying a dry run spawning or establishing dominance. They lip lock quite a bit. I have them in a 100 growing out.
