the more I look at them, and you can see it in the pics if you look, they may be getting the black caudal lines which means they are probably standard tinfoils, not the redtail ones that seem to be more common.

time will tell I guess.

i didnt know there where two types of tin foils do you have pics of one and other.

here is a pic of one of my old red tail tinfoils.

notice: no black lines on the tail fin and no black on the dorsal:

below is a pic I got off the web of the "true tinfoil barb" which has black on the dorsal and black marginal lines on the tail.

I think I might have this variety but I am not sure...

that explains it i have a pair of tin foils and are not as close as colored as yours, they look allot more like the ones you used to have anyway how big did they got.

i have them at the moment on a 120g but i would like to move them when they get bigger to my ciclhlid comunity tank, do you think they will do ok in there, theyll have plenty of space there but im not sure how theyll get along wiht them.

the tinfoils should not bother pretty much any other fish unless they are small enough to eat them.

depending on the particular cichlids you have, they might be aggressive with the barbs though.

the double stacked 90/65 was at my parents place. I sold it when I bought my own house and now I just have the 150g and the 65g salt...
