well i know i am digging this thread back up from the grave but since its my thread and my post has to do with this tank i dont see the harm.
well after two years of running, this tank has been dismantled for the moment to be rebuilt. after many failed overflow designs the tank had suffered a lot of water damage on the back wall and bottom. so since the tank was drained from my house fire last October, and i dont have stock for it, i decided it was time to refurbish the tank and fix all the things i learned along the way.
so up on the list of fixes.
- completely rebuild the tank because trying to replace the back and bottom would be a ton of sanding and what not so it is easier to start over.
- i will be reusing the acrylic since it is still in good shape and it all came out.
- completely redo the plumbing and sump
- and new lighting
- the stand will get some upgrades too to make room for the 40gallon sump.
so in all reality this will be a brand new tank but it will be the same size as the old tank so we will see how this one goes.
it will be a little bit while before i start this one due to a 300 gallon build i will be doing first but as soon as that one is done this will be up next
new stock will be african peacock cichlids
