120 gallon plywood/acrylic tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i used tightbond III to glue the pieces together along with exterior grade screws. well we went to dinner and i decided to set up a video camera to see if he decided to explore his basking area and sure enough he did it took him almost 3o minuets to get brave enough to go up the ramp and another 20 minuets of going up and down then he finally ventured onto the basking area. i have an 11 minuet edited video of it i will add later once it uploads

wow your really organized on how you doing the plywood build i mean you even got a computer sketch it seems..but 1 bala shark alone will die get at 2 but more the better there a schooling fish that can get 14" imo..mine are 4 inches lol but anyways ive been trying to get a plywood build myself and since your doing one how do you make it? and also good luck on the whole thing updates!!

well i decided to build an overflow box into my tank but with a twist. my overflow box will look like a log. i have taken a 12.5 inch long section of 6 inch pvc pipe and cut out one edge to create clearance for my bulkhead fittings and also cut a 1/4 inch slot at my water level. i then took and added lines like bark made from spray foam. once this dries i will be painting it to make it look more like bark. i have made it so that i can remove the top section of the log to perform maintenance on the overflow.

here are a couple pics of it

looks great amazing build and ideas bursting around conrats and good job

he has chased a couple but no carnage yet. he did pi$$ off the pleco yesterday and it pushed him back to the top of the tank though. apparently behind the stump is pleco territory
